TOKYO GIRLS COLLECTION is one of the biggest fashion festivals in the world, held twice a year since August 2005, under the slogan of "bringing Japan's 'real clothes' to the world". TGC not only opens its doors to buyers, journalists, and the fashion industry, but to general consumers who are mainly fashion-conscious F1 population − women from 20 to 34 years old. A total of some 30,200 people attended the 11th TGC 2010 A/W festival this September. This event does not aim to be a fashion show to introduce clothes ahead of time as pieces of work, but proposes to showcase Japan's most popular "real clothes" and fashion that can be put to daily use, reflecting the cultural background of Japan, and to do so in such a way that is entertaining. It also offers contents related to beauty, music, entertainment, and other elements that reflect the target age. As such, TGC has become a new type of fashion show − one of the largest in Japan and an unparalleled event in the world − and is attracting attention in Japan and abroad. TGC is also involved in a variety of projects to revitalize regional industries, and in line with this, TGC is to be held in the regional city of Nagoya and in a dome stadium for the first time. The main theme for TGC in Nagoya is "Super Decorative Favor", inspired by the 2011 spring/summer trend of optimism and kitschy accessories as well as the glamorous and fashion-conscious Nagoya fashion culture represented in phenomena such as princess-like Nagoya-jo girls and fancy Nagoya-maki hairstyles. The fashion festival, tailored for fashion lovers and packed with all the latest trends, will be hitting Nagoya on an unprecedented scale.

TGC in Nagoya will be a blend of contents specified to Tokyo and the host city of Nagoya. Besides the trends in Tokyo, the main fashion show will present the glamorous styles and hair shows of Nagoya. Also, the event is designed to reflect the Nagoya culture such as accommodating the unique local consumer style of mother and daughter shopping in department stores and sharing clothes together and providing food stalls with local Nagoya delicacies. About 50 of TGC's hottest models, including some from the local Tokai area will be appearing on the

show. Through this event, the Executive Committee of TGC will introduce Japan's real girls' fashion and girl culture to the world, and will also provide various measures to contribute to the apparel industry and regional industries.
